Legal Matters
For persons selling their own personal goods.
Whilst the majority of Trading Standards legislation applies to traders, best practice is for all sellers to follow the guidelines to ensure all goods are correctly described and, more importantly safe.
Traders
You may not consider yourself to be a trader but should you regularly sell at events or car boot sales, even if these sales are not a major source of income, you can be termed a trader. To ensure you do not fall in breach of the law, please visit the following website for guidance on selling at regular car boot or table-top sales.
