Following on from the sellout success of our January Jazz Concert Night, Lyndhurst Community Centre is bringing further jazz concerts to the New Forest. In April Cat Skellington will be visiting us to play:
Cat Skellington is an acoustic swing band based on the Isle of Wight. Influenced mostly by the great French gypsy guitar player Django Reinhardt the music they play is largely from the swing era of the 1920s – 30s. It is a style of music with an irresistible beat and a boundless energy known to induce toe tapping of extreme vivacity – https://www.catskellington.co.uk/.
The typical line up of the band is a quartet with double bass, rhythm and lead guitars and clarinet/vocals:
Jez Gray – Double Bass
Hugo Boswell – Lead Guitar
Steve Thompson – Rhythm Guitar
David Hences – Violin
Richard White – Clarinet and Vocals
Alice Lee – Vocals
